Dog / Cat ADOPTION Details

  • 2 min read

YES. WE ARE OPEN. AND YES, WE HAVE DOGS AND CATS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.

Looking to adopt a new furry family member into your life?

Safari offers a number of dogs, kittens, and adult cats for adoption throughout the year. While we did pause adoptions at the beginning of the pandemic, we have since resumed adoptions ONLY at our Quartier Dix30 store in Brossard.

FAQ

Do you need an appointment for an adoption?

No. But please limit your group to two people for our safety, and yours. Please note that if our store reaches capacity, the group size will be reduced to one. We recommend coming by during the week, as our weekends are quite busy these days.

Which dogs/cats are currently available?

Due to high demand for dogs and cats, their availability changes often. For an up to date list, you can always call our Quartier Dix30 store during regular business hours. We also send out a newsletter when we receive new dogs. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. We do not offer a newsletter for cats, and recommend you call the store before visiting.

Which breeds do you typically have?

We have a wide variety of breeds: Teckels/Dachshunds, Goldendoodles, Poodles, Shih Tzu, Labradors, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers, Bichons, Jack Russell Terriers, Australian Shepherds, Shetlands, West Highland Terriers (Westies)...

We do not typically receive more rare boutique breeds such as Shiba Inu, Corgi, French Bulldogs, Malamutes, Great Danes, etc. If we do, it's exceptionally rare.

Do you know when you will receive [breed xyz]?

We unfortunately do not, and cannot provide specific timelines for when we will receive certain breeds of dogs or cats. For dogs, we once again recommend subscribing to our newsletter.

Can you supply me with pictures of the dogs you have?

Unfortunately not. We apologize for the inconvenience.

What about other animals? Are they available for adoption too? Am I allowed to adopt them given the Government of Quebec's "non-essential items" restrictions?

Pet centres such as ours do not have any restrictions according to the government, so yes - all animals (fish, birds, rodents/small animals, reptiles) are available for adoption. However, not all of our stores have the same selection of animals. Please contact your local store, or visit our Quartier Dix30 location for the widest collection of animals.
